What this is
Totally Kyoto is a reference site, not a blog. Every guide is filed into a department — Plan, Stay, Districts, Temples & Shrines, Culture, Food, Seasons and News — so the site works like an index you can search and browse, rather than a feed you scroll through hoping to find the right post.
How we write guides
We start with what's genuinely useful and evergreen — how a place is laid out, what to actually expect, how to behave respectfully — rather than reporting single facts that go stale fast, like exact prices or opening hours. Where something changes often (transport passes, seasonal forecasts, entry fees), we point you to where to check it closer to your trip instead of guessing.
How we're built
The site launched small on purpose: a working example of every department, rather than one department finished and the rest empty. New guides are added at least weekly, usually two or three at a time, with the goal of eventually covering the city in real depth — every district, every major temple and shrine, every season, kept current rather than written once and left.
