Frequently asked questions

The short answers. For anything else, get in touch.

Is Totally Kyoto affiliated with any tourism board or hotel chain?

No. Totally Kyoto is an independent, editorially run index. We don't accept paid placement in guides.

How often is the site updated?

At least once a week, usually with two or three new pages added at a time. Check the News department for a running log.

Can I suggest a guide or correction?

Yes — that's genuinely useful to us. Use the contact page and tell us what's missing or out of date.

Will this be available in other languages?

It's starting to be — a Traditional Chinese version of the homepage and the Plan department is live now (look for the language switcher in the header), with more languages and departments planned as the index grows.

Do you cover day trips outside Kyoto, like Nara or Osaka?

Yes — both are covered in the Plan department, alongside Kyoto itself.
